James Satterwhite, grew up surrounded by the rich musical heritage of his grandparents’ farm in Rockvale, TN. It was there that he discovered his love for the sounds of Tennessee—listening to his grandfather sing old time southern gospel, his grandmother share stories beneath the stars, and the enchanting broadcasts of the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. These experiences ignited a deep passion for music that would shape his life.

James graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with multiple degrees in music and songwriting, further solidifying his connection to the Nashville music scene. He built a life and family in the city, deepening his roots and influence. Over the years, he has had the privilege of sharing his love for Americana music on international stages, performing Bluegrass in England, Scotland, Canada, Germany, and most recently, the Czech Republic.

In addition to his performing career, James devoted many years to teaching guitar and songwriting in Nashville Public Schools, inspiring the next generation of musicians with his passion for Americana. Today, he continues to create original music and travel the world, embodying the vibrant spirit of Americana under the moniker “Nashville Guitar Man.”
